Joyce’s Choices – a puppet play
This visual theatre show, commissioned for two Climate Justice conferences in 2009 went on to tour to high schools in the Western and Eastern Cape in 2010. As part of the Theatre for Change Tour, it travelled to schools in Port Elizabeth, Knysna, George, Oudtshoorn and Cape Town.
The show tells the story of a life-size puppet, Joyce, and her unsustainable way of living. We journey 60 years into the future with Joyce and see how her decisions now affect her life in the future in a South Africa impacted by climate change.
The performance style is dynamic, and high-paced with a fun script and live music that makes it appealing to youth. Each of the four actors deftly switch between a number of characters and a specially designed chest-of-drawers is used to quickly transform the theatre set. The stage comes alive with an array of sound effects and visual tricks to depict the changing of time.
This show can be booked for performances for schools or corporate functions. Please contact Cosmos Productions for more info.

An intense moment of delight during our performance at the Crags Primary School for over 200 learners!
